Al Tazaj’s Delivery Application Migration &
Modernization
iSolutions suggested a new application architecture and design that
works well with GCP’s features and services. This design allows
utilizing Managed instance groups and Load balancing for
auto-healing and high availability.
The challenge
Al Tazaj wanted to optimize the workload they had, being one of the
biggest food chains in KSA. They needed to reduce costs due to new
queries costing a lot of money although the location and base were
exactly like the ones before. They used to face severe performance
issues for their application so they needed to find a better
infrastructure to host the application and the related workflows.
The solution
We provided a scalable automated application platform for Al-Tazaj to
do their operations and business on. The solution consisted of a Cloud
SQL database with HA, automated backups, and automated scale up
and down based on the operation hours. The app platform is built on
GCE and managed instance groups, to utilize the auto-healing and
HA. The app is deployed using startup scripts from GCS bucket
The result
Al-Tazaj was able to scale its application infrastructure based on the
actual traffic and utilization. They were also able to save costs out of
operation hours through scheduled resources scale in/scale down, and
then scale up/out on the start of the operation hours. They also
improved the application deployment process and efficiency.
